Tool · Scrub identifiers before you paste
PII / Confidentiality Redactor
Before you paste anything about a real person, client, or deal into AI, scrub the identifiers. Replace people and party names with role labels, and strip exact dollar values, account, license, and contract numbers. The tool strips emails, phone numbers, dollar amounts, ID numbers, addresses, and dates right in your browser, then finds the names of people, organizations, and places and swaps them for labels like [PERSON 1] and [ORG 1]. You get a redacted version you can copy.
For your work, role labels might read: "the Client," "the Manager," "Vendor A," "the Reviewer." For your work, role labels might read: "the Student," "the Parent," "the Teacher," "the Principal." For your work, role labels might read: "the Applicant," "the Department Head," "Vendor A," "the Council Member." For your work, role labels might read: "the Owner," "the GC," "Sub A," "the Architect." For your work, role labels might read: "the Customer," "the Owner," "Vendor A," "the Manager." For your work, role labels might read: "the Donor," "the Client," "the Program Officer," "the Board Member." For your work, role labels might read: "the Client," "the Partner," "the Vendor," "the Auditor." For your work, role labels might read: "the Client," "the Gallery," "the Collector," "the Studio."
- This tool is a starting point, not a substitute for your eyes. Read the redacted output before pasting it into AI.
- The tool catches most names, dates, and numbers, not everything. Identifying anecdotes (e.g. "the sub whose owner is the inspector's brother-in-law" or "the developer who pulled the permit last spring") need manual redaction.
- Numbers, emails, phones, addresses, and dates are removed in your browser before anything leaves your device. With AI name detection on, the already-scrubbed text is sent to a name checker (Jev by TypeSafe) to find names. Disruption Now does not store it. Turn AI name detection off to keep everything on your device, but it will miss more names.
- Closing the page clears the input.
The tool looks for: names of people, organizations, and places; emails; phone numbers; SSNs; card and account numbers; dollar amounts; contract, license, permit, and ID numbers; street addresses and ZIP codes; dates; room/period numbers.

After you redact
Copy the redacted version, then paste it into any AI exercise in your program. Whatever you are drafting, keep real names, exact dollar figures, and identifiers out and use role labels. Read the redacted output once with your own eyes before you paste it anywhere.
