The Impeccable Command Suite: Refining UI/UX
Craft, shape, audit, polish. The critique-and-iterate loop.
What you'll be able to do
- Name the refine commands and what each one does to an interface
- Run the critique-and-iterate loop against a brand standard
- Use audit before polish so you fix the right things first
The refine commands
Refining UI/UX is not one big "make it better." It is a suite of smaller, named moves you run on purpose: craft (build the first real version), shape (fix structure and hierarchy), audit (find what breaks the standard), polish (tighten the details), colorize (apply color roles correctly), typeset (apply the type scale), and layout (fix spacing and alignment). Naming the move keeps you from polishing a screen whose structure is still wrong. Audit before polish, always.
The critique-and-iterate loop
The engine underneath all of it is a loop: state the standard, critique the work against it, change one thing, look again. The standard is your DESIGN.md, not your mood. The critique cites a principle or a token, not "it feels off." The change is specific and small enough to evaluate. Then you look again and repeat. Good UI becomes great by running this loop a few honest times, with the assistant doing the drafting and you owning every "is this on-brand" call. The next module turns this loop into deliberate practice with a senior critic.
