Module 6 Level 3: AI Design Engineering & Productization advanced 30 min

From Prototype to MVP

Cut to the minimum that ships. Then ship it.

What you'll be able to do

  • Scope an MVP down to the one job it must do well
  • Cut everything that is not the minimum viable product
  • Prepare a prototype to ship to real users

Prototype proves; MVP ships

A prototype answers "could this work?" An MVP answers "will a real person use the smallest useful version, today?" The trap is polishing the prototype forever. The move is to scope hard: pick the one job the product must do well, and make that one job actually good. Everything else is a later decision.

Cut to the minimum, then ship

Cutting is the skill. For every feature, ask: does the one job work without this? If yes, it is out of the MVP, not out of the roadmap, just out of this version. AI is great at helping you build fast, which makes it dangerously easy to build too much. You stay the art director who decides what is in, what is out, and when it is shippable. A shipped MVP that does one thing beats a perfect prototype no one has touched.
